Eire Constructions is a growing civil construction company delivering high-quality infrastructure and construction projects across the Eastern NSW region's. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Estimator to join our team and play a key role in securing and delivering successful projects.

*** Eire is open to this role being based from our Newcastle or Port Macquarie offices OR a hybrid work from home arrangement if you do not live in Port Macquarie or Newcastle.

About the Role
Reporting to the PreContracts Manager and working closely with our Regional Manager, the Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for a variety of civil construction projects (Water, Water Treatment and Transport Infrastructure). The role works closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure commercially sound and competitive outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing project plans, specifications, and contract documentation to determine project scope and requirements
  • Preparing detailed cost estimates including labour, materials, plant, subcontractor, and overhead costs
  • Conducting quantity take-offs and analysing construction drawings and specifications
  • Sourcing and negotiating pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Assessing project risks, contingencies, and value engineering opportunities
  • Preparing professional tender submissions, methodologies, and supporting documentation
  • Coordinating tender handovers for awarded projects
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders throughout the tender and pre-contract process
  • Monitoring industry trends and identifying opportunities to improve estimating processes and efficiencies


About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in an Estimator role within civil construction or infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, contracts, and estimating principles
  • Experience preparing tender submissions and detailed cost estimates
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • A proactive and collaborative approach with the ability to work to deadlines
